Signs Are OK If They're Invisible?

Since we've been bitching about state propaganda lately, here's an interesting story. It's from a Memphis reporter who interviewed the owner of Empire Coffee about a call he got from someone claiming to be a federal agent, asking him "not to put up any negative signs in their windows that were negative toward President Bush. He said there were designated areas of protest and this would cut down on the possibility of problems."

A business-owner in Alabama also claims to have been contacted by the "feds." The owner of Empire Coffee, Gasquet, has been interviewed by NPR and Salon and will be on Air America on Monday afternoon. We'll see if a pattern develops.... (Via Corrente.)
